Hon. Amb. Dr. Prince Andrew Torhile Uchi has formally declared his intention to contest for the Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during an official visit to the APC State Secretariat, Hon. Uchi articulated a clear and practical vision focused on responsive representation, grassroots development, and inclusive governance. He emphasized that his aspiration is rooted in a genuine commitment to serve and deliver measurable improvements in the lives of his constituents.
“My focus is to bring governance closer to the people and ensure that every voice across Gboko and Tarka is heard and translated into actionable policies,” he stated.
Hon. Uchi outlined key priorities in his manifesto, including infrastructure development, economic empowerment, youth engagement, and sustained support for farmers and small businesses. He noted that strengthening these sectors is vital to unlocking the full potential of the constituency.
He also reaffirmed his support for the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, commending the administration’s ongoing development efforts and underscoring the importance of continuity, collaboration, and results-driven leadership.
The official event was attended by party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters. It was presided over by Hon. Benjamin Omale and members of the APC State Executive Committee, who warmly received Hon. Uchi, reflecting growing confidence and momentum behind his candidacy.
Following his declaration at the State Secretariat, Hon. Uchi proceeded to Tarka Local Government Area, where he engaged directly with party faithful, community leaders, and key stakeholders. He received widespread support and reiterated his commitment to accessible leadership and continuous consultation.
Notable stakeholders present included Elder Adzende Iyion; Hon. Achagh Gbor, Director-General of the Campaign Council; Hon. Azua Terkula; Hon. Gyungyu Tersoo; Hon. Nick Orad; Hon. Atsua Nyam; and Hon. David Iorlaha. Also in attendance were youth leaders, former local government chairmen, members of the campaign council, and other key supporters from across Gboko, Tarka, and the Makurdi axis.
Hon. Torhile Uchi pledged to pursue governance anchored on integrity, inclusiveness, and tangible results, assuring constituents of his readiness to effectively represent their interests at the national level.
